Аn Impactful Political and Economic Partnership Between Bulgaria And Vietnam
Two Bulgarian-Vietnam Business Forums took place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A great interest in investing in Bulgaria, warm relations and opportunities for renewal of the contacts with the second generation of people who have studied or worked in Bulgaria made the forums very beneficial for both countries. The rise in Vietnam's standard of living leads to a desire for travel and business expansion and Visa Free Europe received dozens of requests for copartnership by companies and customers during both forums. The Bulgarian delegation stressed that their visit to the Asian side aims to strengthen the dialogue and to intensify the trade and economic relations between the two countries. The Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Emil Karanikolov voiced Bulgaria's support for the dynamic move of the FTA negotiations. During the same week Bulgarian business representatives had the opportunity to meet and exchange experience with their Vietnamese counterparts. Mr Vo Tan Thanh, Vice Chairman of VCCI, said that Vietnam - Bulgaria has had a solid traditional relationship for nearly 70 years, especially in recent years, the Vietnam - Bulgaria cooperation has developed.
The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement will further contribute by strengthening the two economies enhancing access to both markets and triggering a new wave of high-quality investment in both directions. For the first five months of 2018, a total turnover of USD 34.8 million was achieved.
